John Robert's Spa and Cleveland Clinic showcase free
monthly lecture series under the theme of "Health,
Wellness and Beyond"
-
Cleveland, Ohio - September
4, 2007 -
"Health, Wellness and Beyond" is the theme of John
Robert's Spa and the Cleveland Clinic free monthly
lecture series launched April 25, 2007. The goal of this
lecture series is to give the public the opportunity to
learn and discuss contemporary beauty, health and
wellness concerns and issues. The monthly lecture
series is held at John Robert's Spa Mayfield location,
6727 Eastgate Drive, Eastgate Shopping Center, every 4th
Wednesday of the month from 6 to 7:30pm. Topics vary
each session.
Wednesday September 26, 2007 from 6 to 7:30pm, John
Robert's Spa and Cleveland Clinic's Department of
Plastic Surgery will feature their third edition of
"Health, Wellness and Beyond."
Subjects covered at this session include Body
Contouring, Benefits of Body Wraps and Massages, and
hair and makeup trends. This free health and beauty
talk is a great opportunity for all attendees to have
all their questions answered by renowned, experienced
professionals in their areas of expertise.
Dr Silvia Rotemberg, Aesthetic Plastic Surgeon at the
Cleveland Clinic, will explain how body contouring
procedures can removes excess skin left after weight
loss and help restore your appearance and outlook on
life.
"What attracts me to body contouring is that it lets me
give patients who have had bariatric surgery more
confidence and greater self-esteem," she says. "They
feel better in their clothes, and they are no longer
ashamed to look in the mirror. Seeing them happy makes
me feel happy."
Body contouring after massive weight loss can also
include abdominoplasty, lower body lift, thighplasty
(thigh lift), brachioplasty (arm lift), breast lift and
face lift.
Cleveland Clinic now offers minimally invasive surgery
techniques, performed by making smaller incisions. This
procedure has dramatically shortened the recovery time,
and is now performed on an outpatient basis.
"Everyone's time is precious, and people are looking for
techniques that are helpful, yet do not require a lot of
downtime," says James E. Zins, M.D., Chairman of the
Department of Plastic Surgery.
To prepare your skin or complete body care before or
after surgery, massages and body wraps are strongly
recommended. Kelly Farrar, John Robert's Spa
Coordinator, will cover the role and benefits of body
wraps and massages. Sandy Hoyt, John Robert's Director
of Artistic Education, and Nicole Flesher, Esthetician
and Makeup Artist, will introduce new Fall and Winter
hairstyles and makeup trends, and provide valuable
technical beauty tips to help enhance your features.
